Arifureta Shokugyou de Sekai Saikyou (Novel Review)

ArifuretaI’ve read many web novels by now to see how much effort people put in translating them. While not always great translations, the work put into them will be appreciated.

Arifureta has led me to see a different side to the basic hero we have become accustomed to and transformed them into something else. I won’t spoil it for potential readers, but I will say that I greatly enjoyed the first few volumes of the story that I read. And while some of them had lacking translations, filled with bad grammar, and strange wording, it shouldn’t keep you from enjoying the story.

Synopsis –

Among the class transported to another world, Nagumo Hajime is an ordinary male student who didn’t have ambition nor aspiration in life, and thus called “Incompetent” by his classmates.

Mushoku Tensei (Novel Review): A Favorite of Mine

450px-Mushoku_Tensei_Mushoku Tensei was perhaps the first light novel I picked up. The only problem was that I couldn’t put it down after that. Yes, I do believe it was that good as I lost many days without sleep, and even when I felt I couldn’t read anymore and took a rest, I went back to reading more of it the next time I awoke.

Synopsis:

A 34-year-old NEET otaku was chased out from his house by his family. This virgin, plump, unattractive, and penniless nice guy found that his life was heading towards a dead end. He recalled that his life could actually become much better if he can get over the dark history he lived through.

Just when he was at the point of regret, he saw a truck moving at a high speed with three high school students in its path. Mustering all his strength, he saves them but ended up getting run over by the truck, which kills him.

Spirit Migration (Novel Review) : A Must Read

Spirit MigrationI first learned of this story from a comic site I usually frequent, sadly, only three chapters are currently made available. Thus, I began my search for the novel version because I truly believed it had the potential to steal every second of my time it deserved. I was right. Spirit Migration, as the synopsis reads, “A spirit was floating in another world’s dungeon, missing its memories. Eventually “he” learned to posses other creatures and using the bodies of the beasts in the dungeon, made his way to the outside world. Dragging a young female knight, a pretty young lady, and even a beautiful mercenary into the mix, our protagonist begins his great adventure in this world!”
